We believe in the power of prayer and compassion.
At St. George's we feel called to be "God's hands and feet in the world", bringing the care and uplifting comfort of God's presence to those in need. We do this in a variety of ways, and we will gladly pray and care for you or anyone you know who is in need.
Prayer Ministries
We have two ways that we pray for people who are in need. The first is the Sunday prayer list, by which we pray for people by first name only, trusting God to know what their needs are. The second is the Prayer Chain, a dedicated group of people who have convenanted to pray intensely and confidentially for people who wish more detailed prayers for their situation. You can choose how much information to share with the Prayer Chain about your exact circumstances. Then the Prayer Chain will pray for your concern every day, if need be, for a prolonged period of time.
If you have a prayer request, please contact the Church Office at 403-280-3579, or by using the form below.
Laying on of Hands & Annointing with Holy Oil
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month (September - June), we offer a ministry of Laying on of Hands and the ministry of Annointing with Holy Oil. The Laying on of Hands is for anyone who feels the need for prayers to uphold them during times of struggle, or to uphold their loved ones. This happens during Communion.
All are welcome to come forward to receive the Laying on of Hands or Annointing with Oil.
Pastoral Care
We offer compassionate pastoral care to those living through challenging times.
We know that it is not possible for everyone to come out to church, due to advanced age or illness. The Priest works together with a dedicated team of lay people to make sure that these folks receive caring support.
If you or someone you know needs caring support or home Communion please call the Church Office at 403-280-3252 or use the form below.
