During my morning prayers I was praying about making a donation to a missionary whose call to serve God overseas had touched me. An amount had come into my mind a few days before but I wasn’t sure I was suppose to do this. As I prayed about this, the telephone rang. I was expecting a critical call, so I excused myself from my prayer time and checked the phone. It was an unknown number. I let it go into voice mail. Then I listened to the message. It was a notice from my bank advising me that a deposit had just been made to my bank account. (I had not had one of these of calls in a year or so.) Yes, the amount deposited was the amount I had been praying about! And yes, I made the donation with a thankful heart that God had heard my prayer and answered.
Now, I must add, not all my prayers are answered so quickly and clearly; but, I believe God hears and answers prayer. May we have ears to hear, eyes to see, and faith to act when God responds.
