Day 32 of our Lenten Journey! As we draw near to the end of the 40 days of Lent we know that the journey of the next few days is not easy. It will be a time when we focus on betrayal, denial, mocking, torture, and crucifixion. The coming week can be a difficult week to participate in.
Perhaps it helps if we think about times in the life of our Christian community when we have felt what Jesus felt as love for one another was put to the test. Sadly these experiences continue to be felt within the community which seeks to love God and their neighbour. Paul writes about this in his letter to the Philippians. The antidote he says is to address our differences, remembering the positive times we have worked together to share the good news of God’s forgiving love for all people.
The key to the success of this reconciliation process is to approach God with joy, praying about everything, and willingly and humbly following the Lord’s guidance. And we will receive the peace which passes all understanding which will move us to give thanks and praise together to Jesus our Lord. Amen.
