It had been a quiet winter’s day. The sun had poured down its bright rays from a clear blue sky. Then clouds began to pile up in the South-east, higher and higher. Suddenly tiny flakes of snow came sailing down to rest upon the cold hard ground. Slowly the clouds moved Southward and the visitors from above ceased. That’s when it happened!
At the edge of my vision there was movement. Looking down in that direction a white Rabbit sauntered across the lawn and out of my view. I was about to return to my book when another of God’s creatures silently padded into view, a beautiful golden spotted Bobcat. The first I’ve seen this year. Slowly it walked past my window while a black Squirrel, high up in the fir tree, chattered its warning for all to hear. Words came to mind:
“All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all....He gave eyes to see them and lips that we might tell, how great is God Almighty, Who has made all things well....” [Mrs. Cecil Frances Alexander, published 1848]
