Do you have any family stories celebrating a moment when God intervened to rescue you from a difficult situation? I remember such a moment when I was a child.

From time to time my Dad would unexpectedly bring home strangers who were in need of a meal. This happened one afternoon just before supper. Mum had cooked sausages and vegetables to feed our family of five. Being a growing teen I eyed the few sausages on the platter and wondered how six hungry people could be fed. Dad said a prayer of thanksgiving and proceeded to serve the sausages while Mum served the veggies. Much to my surprise everyone left the table at the end of the meal feeling quite satisfied. Dad’s prayer of thankfulness for what we were about to receive had been heard and answered.

That childhood experience taught me to put my faith in the Lord Jesus; for what is written in God’s Holy Word is true and trustworthy.
