Do you think that Jesus was ever disappointed and down in the dumps? Yes, the Gospels share many incidents in which people, including his disciples, disappointed him. I expect that you can remember some of those events.
For example, after raising Jarius’ twelve year old daughter to life, Jesus left the area of Capernaum and went to his hometown of Nazareth. Much to his surprise the people who heard him teach wrote him off, they knew him as a carpenter, not an accredited teacher. Disappointed in their unbelief Jesus left his hometown. He decided that the time had come to broaden his ministry by sending out his disciples to spread the Good News, and he himself began walking from village to village sharing his message of God’s love. Jesus did not allow the unbelief of those people with whom he had grown up to dissuade him from pursuing the task the Father had sent him accomplish.
When you face disappointment remember the occasions when God has worked through you to bless others and in so doing to also bless you; then, give thanks to the Lord and carry on.
