     On waking what did I see?

     Canada Geese flying toward me!

     Passing over in their famous V,

     They left me smiling joyfully!

I do not expect to see Canada Geese in January; however, 2021 is beginning like no other year that I can remember. The presence of the geese in spite of the cold and snow reminds me that God continues to watch over you and me, and to care for us in spite of COVID and its dangerous variants. My response is to say, “Thank you Lord Jesus, thank you!”

Approaching each day with a thankful heart leads to a joyfulness that is not conditional on what is happening in the world around us. Yes, at moments we might not feel happy, but that does not negate our faith in God who is the source of our joy. More on this theme as the week unfolds.
