The dark grey clouds that accompanied the snow on Labour Day were pierced by rays of brilliant sunlight which caused the moisture covered leaves to shimmer and shine. In the distance, rising up out of the Bow River Valley, a flock of pure white flying creatures swooped and glided across the slowly appearing landscape. The Gulls were awake, and eager to be off on their morning adventure.
“All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful— The Lord God made them all.” (Hymn 721, 1938 Book of Common Praise)
O God, in the course of this busy life give us times of refreshment and peace; and grant that we may so use our leisure to rebuild our bodies and renew our minds, that our spirits may be opened to the goodness of your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. (BAS prayer 15, page 679)
